POLYDEX containing 2% Glutaraldehyde, is ideally suited for disinfecting sterilizing surgical and other instruments. It does not cause any damages to the plastic or rubber article and contains rust-inhibitor for metal instruments. It is not staining, it can safely be used for the following instruments :

  • Anesthesia equipment
  • Lanced instruments
  • Inhalation therapy equipment
  • Rubber and Plastic objects
  • Sharp instruments Thermometers
  • Solid instruments from septic cases

POLYDEX rapidly kills all pathogens; complete disinfection in 10 minutes it is bactericidal, tuberculocidal, pseudomonoacidal virucidal & Fungicidal. POLYDEX is also sporicidal and STERLIZES within 4 – 10 hours, even in the presence of protein matter as blood, serum, mucous and soap. POLYDEX Solution can be used in small or large trays or buckets are required by the hospitals depending upon the size of the instruments to be disinfected or sterilised. Each POLYDEX container is provided with required quantity of the ACTIVATOR.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

For complete disinfection or sterilisation of medical instruments and appliances. Please clean rinse and dry the objects before immersing in FULL STRENGTH POLYDEX solution.
  • Disinfection : Immerse completely for a minimum of 10 minutes to destroy viruses and vegetative pathogens.
  • Sterilisation : Immerse completely for a minimum of 10 hours to destroy resistant pathogenic spores. Remove instrument from Polydex solution using aseptic technique and rinse thoroughly with sterile water. Use covered containers to minimise odour and to prevent evaporation.
  • Directions for Activating : The contents of the vial containing activator should be added to Polydex solution in the main container. Mix well. The activated Polydex changes colour to green and is ready for use.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Skin : Avoid skin contact and possibility of sensitization exists.
  • Eyes  : In case of contact flush with water immediately and get medical attention.
  • Food  : Avoid contamination of food.
  • Instruments  : Do not immerse carbon steel objects for over 24 hours. Solution contains rust inhibitors but will not prevent or remove rust caused by poor plating or improper cleaning of instruments.
  • Store in a cool place.
  • Do not use the solution beyond 14 days after mixing.
